11-03-09 Las Vegas Interclub

It was a busy and successful trip to the South Central Section PGA Pro AM for two groups from OTN. The groups traveled to Las Vegas from October 18th-19th and enjoyed every minute of it. (Despite the wind that blew 40-50mph which made it difficult for the two teams to finish!) The Tournament was held at the Red Rock Country Club and the groups stayed at the Golden Nugget just off the Vegas Strip.
The first group made up of Jim Kane, Lee Daniels, Bob Alexander, Mike Duffy and Kirby Smith came in 6th. The second group made up of Jimmy Lynn Austin, Norm Smith, Jerry Oden, Jim Wallace and Steve Kimmel came in 2nd.
There were 19 teams from Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas that made up the tournament. This is the second year that Oak Tree National has placed first or second in the event.
Next year, we will put on our own Interclub event in March that will include Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, Gaillardia, Quail Creek and Oak Tree Country Club. Each club will invite 20-25 Members that will make up a total of 80-100 person Tournament. And perhaps the most exciting part, we will have a private course to play on all to ourselves in Las Vegas!
Our plan is to leave the week after spring break. Interested Members should call the golf shop at (405) 348-2004. And Remember: This is trip is first come, first serve for the first 20-25 Members. So don’t miss out as it’s sure to fill up quickly!
